- Phos Architects have achieved second place in a two-stage international competition organised by the RIBA to design a new observatory in Liverpool, UK.
- The proposed Mersey Observatory will allow visitors and residents of Liverpool to view the world famous city like never before. The proposed building represents a physical and metaphorical torch of guidance and warning, of information and reassurance, of changing seasons and attitudes within the city.
- The shortlisted design by Phos Architects in collaboration with Buro Happold engineers formed part of an exhibition to celebrate Liverpool as European Capital of Culture 2008.
